Sara Daneshpour
Age: Country of Birth: Country of Citizenship: Currently Residing In: Sara Daneshpour has studied with Leon Fleisher at The Curtis Institute of Music since 2002. She has performed not only in her native city of Washington, DC, but also in New York, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Estonia and Russia. Ms. Daneshpour has performed in the Washington, DC, area in many venues, including the Kennedy Center, Library of Congress, German Embassy, Kreeger Museum, Smithsonian American History Museum, Arlington Festival and Phillips Collection. She has also performed in New York at Carnegie Hall, Werner-Richard-Saal and Rhein-Ruhr halls of Düsseldorf, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Russia at both the Great Hall of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and the Gnessin School of Music. Ms. Daneshpour has been featured nationwide on 160 radio stations, including WGBH in Boston. In addition, she performed with Billy Joel and seven other pianists as part of the Smithsonian's 300-year anniversary of the piano, featured on WETA. She has received many awards at local, national and international piano competitions, including the city-wide competition for District of Columbia Public Schools, winner of intermediate and senior divisions of the Cogen Concerto Competition, Marlin Engel Solo Competition, Russian-American Music Association Competition, Beethoven Society of America Piano Competition and a medal at the Maria Canals International Piano Competition.
